Good Morning Phil,
Just a brief few lines to thank you for conducting mum’s service yesterday.
As you can imagine, none of us were looking forward to it, but it was a lovely occasion, if not a little strange with the seating plan!
However these are exceptional times and we all understood why it had to be done.
Thank you for the suggestion of the writing of letters to mum – everyone agreed it was so nice and much more personal.
Dad said that the songs we picked were perfect too and, although it will take a long time to come to terms with, he loved your service throughout.
Sarah and Jono were able to watch in Dubai via webcam too .
and also contacted me later to say how nice it had been.
Once again, on behalf of the family, thank you for everything you have done.
I am writing to thank yo so much for your contribution to Peter's funeral service. We all felt that the organisation behind it and the conducting of it by you could not have been better. It leaves us with most satisfying memories which, I am sure, will be long lasting.
Your symbolic story for Aaron was I am sure appreciated and enjoyed by all of us, not just the grandson. In fact we have already had three notes from friends and family saying how memorable the service was and one specifically mentioned your story.
I have just written a letter to Mark (Funeral Director) expressing the family's gratitude to you both. I have put the flowers on the terrace and they are still looking good. Peter I am sure would have been hugely appreciative of everything you did.
With all our Best wishes. Jill Lankester
Thankyou Phil for a beautiful service for Dad yesterday. When we met to plan the words we were impressed but hearing them yesterday was so special. You put in personal touches & thoughts & it all added to giving Dad the send off he deserved.
You made a tough day really special with how you conducted the service & we wanted to send you our personal thanks on behalf of the family.
Tonya, Johanne, Linda & family.
Dear Mr Spicksley,
Thankyou very much for the way you conducted the service at Alberts funeral.
It made a very sad day into a celebratory one and lifted our spirits, Yours sincerely Pam Vandome
Dear Mr Spicksley
Just a few words to thank yo for helping my daughter and I arrange my Brother Michael's funeral, The advice you gave us for music and poems were perfect, you must be very proud of the work you do. Yours Sincerely, Jean Parker
I just wanted to thank you once more for the service you conducted for my Gran,
I thought about the information about her that we provided to you and wondered how on earth could you present it,
but you did it well with compassion and dignity, even the small things about her that seemed irrelevant you put across
as important, that probably were important parts of her life. Little touches as well like the Lords Prayer you asked
for those that want to join in was nice it gave people choice. You actually spoke as if you knew her well. Thanks again.
Many thanks for doing a great job yesterday. The service was great - just how grandma would have wanted it to be.
Everyone who attended said the same.
Just thought I'd send you a quick email to thank you so much for all your help yesterday.
It was a very emotional day, but you managed it so that it ran as smoothly and we didn't over -run!!
It meant a lot to us all.
I am writing to thank you for the way in which you conducted my mother's funeral service. Both yourself and
Alastair Huteson were very professional yet sensitive and humane. For me and my family it was a very special,
memorable occasion - one that we will always cherish.
Yours sincerely Peter J. Thompson
I just wanted to drop you a line – and I believe my brother Ian was thinking of doing the same – to thank you for the service last Wednesday 2 December. A number of people commented on the service afterwards and they were all very positive.
Incidentally, my brothers and I thought you did very well to make sense of the gibberish we came up with on the preceding Saturday, so again, thank you.
Thank you for the beautiful reading you gave at Baby Williams funeral.
We couldn't of asked for anything better. Your words meant a lot to us. Love Mark and Holly
Just a quick email to say " Thanks so much" the service was lovely and you did us proud. Everyone said to us how nice it was to hear all about Mum and her life. Like you said it was a celebration and it was just right.
Thanks so much we will remember this day and what you said about her for a long time.

Please accept our sincere thanks for the way you conducted the celebration of Eric's life yesterday, it was exactly what he would have wished.
Kind Regards Joan and family
I would like to thank you for the beautiful service you carried out at my mother's funeral last Monday.
I’m not a very religious person and I had never heard the term ' funeral celebrant before so when Tony Alexander of Alexander's Funeral Care explained exactly the kind of service you could provide I was delighted to have been offered that option and I am so pleased that Tony recommended you. The care you took and the time spent with me prior to the service was greatly appreciated and I feel the sensitivity you showed was very special. The service you prepared truly reflected the emotions and feelings, not only of myself and family, but all my friends also. Everyone spoke very highly of you and your professionalism.
So thank you once again for making that day so special.
We would like to offer a sincere thank you for your role as celebrant for Ron's funeral on Tuesday 13th July.

On behalf of myself and my three daughters may we thank you for the lovely service you gave in memory of Geroge, our darling husband and father.
I have been able to show the service you printed out and gave to us to some friends who were unable to attend the service, they said that it was George exactly. I can sit and read it at any time. Again many thanks.
I would like to thank you once again for making Craig's funeral something that we can look back on with warmth, pride, and comfort.
It truly was a fitting tribute to our wonderful son. Sorry you could not make it to the hotel afterwards which was packed with all Craig's friends and family, many of the younger ones carried on their remembrance into the early hours.
The collection for the Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice was an amazing £702 which we will donate in Craig's name.
Once we have Craig's ashes I will be in touch. If you are available we would like to take you up on your kind offer to say a few words at the interment.
Thank you for making the day so very special for us all.

Letter sent to the Co-operative Funeralcare, Doncaster July 2011
I just wanted to say thank you to all the Co-op Funeral Care staff who took care of my mother’s funeral on April 21st. We were all impressed by the courteous and professional approach of everyone we met from your organisation. Thank you also for putting us in touch with Philip Spicksley, whoconducted the service at Rose Hill. I would highly recommend Phil to any family who do not wish to have a religious service. It felt as if a family friend was speaking to us at the crematorium: he had taken the time to find out about my Mum’s life and her family, his speech was interesting and a comfort to us all. Phil also came with us tosay a few words when we buried the ashes and he made this small event into a touching occasion. Please pass on my thanks to your colleagues. Kind regards
Funeral of Billy Stathan 27/06/11 Lincoln
As a family we would like to pass on our sincere thanks for the way you conducted the funeral service of our loved on e Billy Stathan.
The 27th June 2011 will remain in our minds forever, and to have had the support from yourself made the day so much more bearable.
From start to finish, everything we asked of you, you delivered. We had so many friends who attended the funeral ask us how long the gentleman conducting the service had known Billy, for us to reply saying, he didn't they were amazed. That itself is true credit to you and a mark of your professionalism. Many friends and family remarked on wheat a wonderful funeral it was and how proud Billy (Dad) would have been.
We would also like to say Thankyou for your time on 18th August for the Internment, again a special touch on what again is a bad day. Our family will have no problems in recommending your service.
Once again a huge thankyou from Linda, Andrea, Darren and all the family xxx

Extract from the letter to Lincoln Co-Operative Funeral Directors
Mr. Philip Spicksley was suggested when discussing service type and I would highly recommend this gentleman to you. Prior to the service he visited my Brother and myself to discuss the service and to gain insight into our family life and how to ensure the service was a fitting tribute to our Mum. Mr. Spicksley wrote a wonderful tribute to her having gained insight into her life and e-mailed this to me for approval prior to the service. We found this gentleman very approachable, with excellent communication and listening skills which enabled him to provide a service sensitive to our need and personal to our Mother. Many of the people who attended the funeral commented positively about the funeral service and the fitting tribute paid to Mum by Mr. Spicksley.

Hi Philip re: Dennis Halliday service on 29th October 2012 Just wanted to say a huge thank you for the way you conducted the service for Dad. Many of the relatives and friends present smiled (and at one point laughed) at the anecdotes of his life, but we were also given the opportunity to quietly reflect on our loss. Many Thanks Lorraine (ps-Please would it be possible to email a copy of the service and readings as some of those attending have asked if they could have a copy to pass onto relatives unable to attend.)

From my mum, my sister Natalie and myself we would just like to say a huge thank you for the service you conducted for my dad last Thursday.

Thanks again, it was wonderful.
Hi Phil. Apologies for the delay in contacting you, but I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for your kind, empathic and professional services for both my father John Waugh, and my husband Terry back in April and May respectively. I am sure that the kind of service you offer will continue to grow in popularity in the years to come, and would like to wish you all the best for the future, in both your professional and personal life. Good Morning Philip,
Many thanks for the service yesterday, it was very sympathetically and thoughtfully carried out.
It was obviously an emotional occasion but Audrey and her family would like to thank you for the thoughtful and sympathetic way it was delivered.
The ladies particularly liked the way you addressed Eddie directly, which we all thought was a nice touch.
These things are always difficult but it went as well as can be expected, plus i will have to thank Priestly and Cocket for the very professional way they performed.
Best Regards Dave and Audrey Raggett
